To begin, we are now painting watercolors on Thursdays. I will add some photos this coming Thursday. We will be doing a pen and wash. This has been very fun and enjoyable painting with some great ladies.
The Nampa Art Guild show starts tomorrow. My assignment is to ferry the trailer containing the Guild's carpeted panels on which art is hung for the show. This is, of course, The Spring Show. Guild members paint toward the two shows presented yearly, one in Spring and one in Fall. We look forward to showing art, socializing, having lunch together and just getting around art. Much of it is very high quality.
I heard from Terry Springer last evening, sending me information on Vladislav Yeliseyev art. I checked Mr. Yeliseyev and his work is rather amazing. There is an article about him and his methodology in the February, 2016 issue of "Watercolor Artist".
The cool thing about the contact is that Terry said he wanted to start painting again with watercolors. So, I am thankful Mr. Yeliseyev inspired him to get going again. Springer is good, just plain stinking good. I am excited to see his work again.
Here are my three entries for the Spring Show:
This is "Stangs", a 14' X 20" Acrylic
"Windbreak" 15" X 22" Watercolor on Arches 140 lb. cold press paper
"Old Deke", Full sheet Watercolor on Kilimanjaro 140 lb cold press paper
I am pleased to say that all three look better in real life than in photos. I enjoyed painting all three. Check me May 5th and see what the ladies have produced.
