Yesterday we did watercolor at the studio til 2:00 and changed over to gesture drawing with Rachel as the model. As usual, I neglected to take photos, but I will get better at this I hope.
Wednesday the plein aire group went to Marsing Island Park and had a wonderful day. It was unseasonably cool and pleasant after all the heat we have not enjoyed. There were subjects all around us and the fires hazed-up the air, so there were some opportunities with the light. The light became most interesting to me after lunch, and I got a nice little watercolor sketch 8 X10 before I came home. Here are some pictures that Gail took. She is not pictured, but she got a wonderful watercolor with some experimentation with watercolor pencils. Good day painting outside.
NOTE: The Plein Aire Painters of Idaho have a short exhibition at the Alaska Center in Boise until Saturday afternoon/evening. They reached 100 members and decided to celebrate with a show. All are welcome to visit. I am planning to go see the exhibition when I do errands in Boise today. It will be instructive for certain.
