What a long, nasty winter in Idaho, perhaps the whole Northwest. I am in the studio this afternoon with the door open. It is not pretty outside, but it will be soon. Spring is approaching fast. Tomorrow morning I go plein aire painting in Nampa.
I finished my entry for the National Watercolor Societies show (below). I put a few touches on the plein aire I did at Mission Bay a few weeks ago. It was a lovely morning there. I met an old marine, (Bill) and we shot the breeze while I let the watercolor dry.
Amy is going to help me get it sized correctly for e-mailing. I am certainly not satisfied with the photos I get from my phone of Nikon D 80, and I use them for the website and blog. As with this one, the actual painting/s look so much better. I am working on learning how, or finding a pro to photograph for me.
I entered paintings for the Western Watercolor Society several weeks ago, but I don't think they even considered my work. I realized that I didn't follow the prospectus directions for photographing the work, so they likely just crap-canned the whole works. So, I will be trying to learn the technology for sending entries. I would rather just paint, but there is always some Type A hoop to jump through.
