It has been a while. In fact, it has been nearly a month since the Eagle Plein Aire, and a long while since I have posted anything. I have been working on my website a bit and adding a few new things there.
I won a ribbon "artist's choice" at The Eagle Plein Air Festival. It is sort of like kissin' your sister as there was no prize money involved. But, I am still gratified that artists thought enough of it to vote for it as a favorite. I quite like it myself. It is an sort of urban sketchy type painting, 11 X 14 Watercolor (ink and wash) on Arches 140 lb.
The subject is the Borah Mansion, now owned by Howard K. Smith of Boise. He told me the old house was moved to the Eagle Area in, I believe he quoted, 1932. It is a cool old house and I'd sure love to own it and refurbish it. For now, I will just paint pictures of the home. Thanks to Mr. Smith for permission to sit on his grounds and draw/paint.
I have been busy painting outside pretty often actually, nothing worth showing. I am also playing with pastels. More later.
