We left Caldwell the morning of the 26th, tons of traffic from Salt Lake to Vegas and on to San Diego, but we made it to the Surfer in Pacific Beach on the 27t. Weather is a bit cool for playing in the surf, but I have gotten a few sketches and the sun is bright and sky clear. Beautiful . . .
We visited Liberty Station yesterday. It is the old Navy Training Center in San Diego (1923-1997). It has been renovated and it is a center for art and arts, absolutely beautiful and a wonderful place for an old veteran to visit.
The San Diego Watercolor Society has their gallery and education center there. It is first class and the people are welcoming and just absolutely NICE. I am signed up to go plein air painting with them and do a life sketching session at their education cenetere next week, the day prior to our trip back. I hate to leave, but I'll have good memories and some fodder for studio painting. If you get a chance to visit here, do not skip Liberty Station.
