While in San Diego last week, the President of the Idaho Watercolor Society contacted me via e-mail to let me know I have a painting selected for the Western Federation of Watercolor Societies' 2019 show. As luck would have it (luck is something of which I have little), the 2019 show is in San Diego, hosted by The San Diego Watercolor Society at their fabulous Liberty Station gallery and school. I am stoked.
I plan on attending the opening festivities, mostly so I can go paint with Gabriel Stockton and the other outdoor painters in the SDWS on Wednesday prior to the opening, and then urban sketch on Saturday. Yeah Baby!!!
This is an image of my entry. I painted a similar scene a few years ago in an 11 X 14 and completed this a few months ago in 16 X22. An old Vietnam War photo inspired my effort.
Congratulations to all the Idaho Watercolor Society painters who were selected. I read that 9 were selected from Idaho, which is the largest number ever from the IWS. Pretty dang cool.
